- You will serve as a Biological Science Technician in the Navy Entomology Center of Excellence of NAVY ENTOMOLOGY CENTER OF EXCEL. Responsibilities You will obtain information from a diversity of specialties and sources and apply to the design and development of training tools and techniques. You will utilize training tools to inform students on how to effectively control disease carrying insects and other pests. You will design course curriculum that meets current DoD and Navy requirements. You will develop novel information transfer products using current technologies designed to distill highly technical information into a widely usable form, meeting customer requirements. You will instruct informal and formal courses, workshops, seminars, and technical symposia, providing training for a diversity of military and civilian professionals across all services. You will provide detailed analysis of information to guide curriculum development leading to new courses providing critical information specifically for military application during a diversity of missions. You will develop and evaluates curriculum regarding pesticide dispersal equipment, pesticides, pest management procedures, and personnel and environmental safety. You will obtain information on new training and education developments or technology.

Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:planning, coordinating, and monitoring highly complex training programs that frequently required modification of standard practices; analyzing abstract concepts, determining the most effective and efficient approach to problem solving; assessing the feasibility and soundness of proposed curriculum ensuring limited resources are conserved; planning and establishing criteria to assess program effective; developing methods and techniques to extend existing capabilities; designing course curriculum that meets current organization requirements. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
