- We seek a broadly trained biologist to teach the aforementioned classes in the undergraduate curriculum and/or in Furman’s new Master of Science in Community Engaged Medicine program (MS-CEM). This position is an expansion to help the faculty meet teaching demands within the Biology Department and those of the graduate program. Submit PDF versions of curriculum vitae; a statement describing how your teaching, scholarship, mentoring and/or service contributes to a liberal arts and sciences college and community committed to diversity as one of its core values; a statement of teaching credentials and philosophy; a statement of research interests and future research priorities; an initial plan for research with undergraduates; all transcripts; and names and contact details for three references. Review of applications begins October 15, 2018 and continues until the positions are filled.
- Qualifications
- Candidates must have their PhD (by June 2019) and show evidence of teaching excellence and commitment to establishing a productive research program that leads to publication with undergraduates. Mentoring of undergraduate research is typically pursued intensively in the summer, but often continues during the academic year. Most students will present their research in posters or talks at regional or national conferences. Startup funds will be provided.
