Description
Position Function: Mississippi State University is currently seeking qualified individuals for a research (75%) and Extension (25%) faculty position (non-tenure track) to conduct research and Extension in an area of pollinator health and/or pollinator ecology as it relates to agricultural crop production. The incumbent will be administratively responsible to the Delta Research and Extension Center, and will be a formal member of the Department of Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Entomology and Plant Pathology at the main campus in Starkville, MS. The candidate will also work closely with scientists from ARS/USDA, other universities and on-campus scientists. Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: An earned Ph.D. in entomology or a closely related field from an accredited institution of higher learning with a strong emphasis in apiculture. Individuals who are ABD (all but dissertation) will be considered. Acceptable candidate must have outstanding English verbal and written communication skills, experience with managing honey bees and agricultural production, statistics, and experimental design. Experience in grant writing and pursuit of extramural funding is required. The level of appointment and/or rank and salary will be commensurate to the individual's qualifications and experience.
