Description
As the successful candidate for this position, you will work with a team to successfully implement and maintain an integrated pest management program within a controlled environment setting. Duties will be both independent and team-based, working with both full-time members of the Production Team, as well as contractors. In this role, most time will be spent on your feet in hot and humid conditions scouting, applying biologicals, placing traps within the greenhouse. This candidate may be responsible for supporting other functions within Agronomy, tracking inventory, ordering supplies, and utilizing IT tools to capture data. Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, with extended hours or shift work during peak seasons. Skills: IPM experience within controlled environments (greenhouse, nurseries, and/or growth chambers) desired.
Qualifications
• Associate's degree required and 2-5 years of experience in the field or Bachelor’s degree with 1+ years of experience in the field or related area. • Qualified candidates should have knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures within a greenhouse environment, and rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job, with attention to detail. • Attention to detail, ability to interface with ipods, computers, and multiple software platforms • Knowledge and experience working with an IPM program. • Experience working with environmental control systems, plants in production environments, and pest management plans. • Good communication skills and organization skills are a must. • Ability to lift 50 pounds, climb onto working platforms, and crawling/stooping Desired: • Certified pesticide applicators license or holder (in state of Arizona) • Or ability to get pesticide applicators license
