- The Department of Entomology and Plant Pathology of the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville and University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture invites applications to fill a 12-month, non-tenure track instructor position (70% teaching, 30% extension) with an emphasis on undergraduate education and outreach. The University of Arkansas, Fayetteville is a land-grant institution and the flagship of the University of Arkansas System. Responsibilities: Duties will be instruction and leadership of departmental undergraduate programs on the UA-Fayetteville campus. Extension duties will include public education events and coordination with statewide 4-H efforts. The successful candidate will teach a large-enrollment undergraduate course, Insects, Science and Society, and design and coordinate the affiliated lab sections. This course is designated as fulfilling the science requirement of the university’s core general education curriculum. The candidate will teach additional courses based on expertise and program needs, and is expected to develop and execute online delivery of new and existing entomology courses. Other responsibilities will include coordination of undergraduate minor programs in entomology and plant pathology, recruitment of honors students to departmental programs, and guidance of student clubs. The candidate will assist in gathering data for assessment of the core general education course. Women and minority candidates are encouraged to apply. - Minimum Qualifications • A doctoral degree in entomology or related field by appointment date. • Demonstrated experience teaching undergraduate entomology courses. Preferred Qualifications • Teaching experience in a land-grant institution. • Experience working with students with diverse backgrounds. • Experience in curriculum development and delivery of online material.
