- Description
- This is a 12-month non-tenure-accruing position that will be 100% teaching (College of Agricultural and Life Sciences, available in the Entomology and Nematology Department, Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences, at the University of Florida. Duties will include developing a premier educational program related to pest management and biosecurity that includes the development of a biosecurity certificate under the entomology major. Primary responsibilities include teaching existing distance-delivered courses in Insect Pest and Vector Management (ENY 5236), Exotic Species and Biosecurity Issues (ALS416) as well as revising and developing additional related courses, both traditional (classroom) and distance, depending on the successful candidate’s interests and needs of the department. This assignment may change in accordance with the needs of the unit.
- Qualifications
- A M.S. or Ph.D. (foreign equivalent acceptable) in some combination of entomology, pest management, or a closely related discipline is required. Candidates should have significant teaching experience, demonstrated skills in verbal and written communication, and interpersonal relationships. Candidates must be supportive of the mission of the Land-Grant system. Candidates must also have a commitment to IFAS core values of excellence, diversity, global involvement, and accountability.
