- Funding is currently available for a postdoctoral researcher in the area of sweetpotato weevil biological control. The successful applicant will conduct research at the Louisiana State University Agricultural Center Department of Entomology in partnership with AgBiome, Inc. as part of a Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation funded project. The overall objective is to “develop a microbial solution for deployment to smallholder farmers in African nations to control sweetpotato weevils.” The incumbent will develop and optimize the use of microbial biological control for sweetpotato weevil and refine its use within the context of an integrated pest management program.
- Qualifications
- PhD in Entomology, Plant Pathology or related discipline. Experience in biological control, insect pathology, microbiology or bacteriology is preferred. Proven ability in diligent documentation, record-keeping, and reporting of experimental data is required.
