Description
The Biological Control Program is a part of the California Department of Agriculture. It is managed along with several other units within the Integrated Pest Management Branch. We are looking for a senior level scientist with a strong background in classical biological control of invasive insect pests. The candidate will be in charge of a number of projects dealing with the importation, host specificity testing, rearing, release, and field evaluation of exotic natural enemies under consideration for release into California. Most insect targets are of economic importance to agriculture but may also be an urban problem.
Qualifications
The most competitive candidates should have Ph.D. in a field related to biological control and be an experienced grant writer.
