- State Fair Internship Position Description Texas Beef Council (TBC) is seeking interns for the upcoming State Fair of Texas, Sept. 28 - Oct. 21, 2017. TBC will have a booth in the Food and Fiber Pavilion which will be open to the public 10:00 am-6:00 pm each day. TBC’s goal is to educate the public about beef’s nutrition and offer cooking inspiration and how-to guides. The primary function of the temporary staff will be to assist Texas Beef Council’s on-site Event Manager in: • Promoting Beef by engaging fair goers and offering recipes/nutritional information. • Managing promotional games offered within the Texas Beef Council area • Addressing questions and concerns from consumers and cattle producers • Keeping area clean, safe and presentable Duties will include: attending scheduled training session, date TBD. Compensation:$15 an hour. Qualified candidates must complete questionnaire by August 20, 2018.
- Qualifications
- Successful candidates will have: • Excellent verbal communication skills • An interest in agriculture communication, nutrition and/or advertising and marketing • Be available to work a minimum 8 hour shift for at least 7 consecutive days between Sept. 28 -Oct. 21. Physical requirements include ability to: • Stand for long periods of time • Lift up to 40 pounds • Speak for long periods of time • Be able to bend down to restock materials and assist with promotional games
