- JOB OBJECTIVE: Perform routine consultative and technical assistance work for the Texas Department of Agriculture’s (TDA) Agriculture and Consumer Protection (ACP) Division. Work involves ensuring that the monitoring and appropriateness of pesticides used throughout the state of Texas is in accordance with statutory requirements. Provide technical assistance to program staff and general public. Work under moderate supervision with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: 1. Review incident reports and inspection results using the Bringing Resource Integration & Data Together for Greater Efficiency (BRIDGE) for accuracy and completeness and forward to the TDA Enforcement staff when appropriate. 2. Receive, review, log, file and distribute information from the structural pesticide pre-treat and structural fumigation notices received by the program daily from licensees via JotForm, facsimile, email and phone message. 3. Disseminate information on structural pest control laws and regulations, policies, procedures, licensing and compliance. 4. Prepare correspondence related to SPCS, as requested. 5. Provide applications and forms for structural pest control licensing to constituents upon request via mail, e-mail, fax or in person. 6. Research account discrepancy and document findings for approval for further processing. 7. Respond to and/or forward inquiries and requests for information from TDA staff, the regulated community or the public concerning inspections or compliance with state or federal pesticide and structural pest control laws and regulations to SPCS coordinator. 8. Assist constituents with questions on how to qualify to take exams, the process for determining eligibility to take exams and other exam duties required for the program. 9. Assist with the record retention process for SPCS and ensure compliance with the Agency Records Management Policy. 10. Assist the Coordinator for SPCS with special projects as needed. 11. Adhere to established work schedule with regular attendance. 12. Follow all TDA safety guidelines/procedures and ethics requirements. NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES: 13. Perform other duties as assigned.
- Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university (one year work experience related to the essential duties may substitute for one year of college); Minimum one year work experience in a technical program related to agriculture or consumer protection; Work experience reviewing, analyzing or evaluating detailed, technical reports; and Required to travel up to 5% of the work period.
