- eneral Description The Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health invite applications for a Director's position for their new Lyme and Tick-borne Disease Institute for Research and Education. This faculty position with tenure track will have an appointment in the W. Harry Feinstone Department of Molecular Microbiology and Immunology. The Director will be expected to recruit new faculty whose research is focused on Lyme and Tick-borne diseases, to expand and coordinate existing institutional research efforts, and to maintain their own vibrant research program. The Institute will house a tick-rearing facility capable of accommodating BLS2 and BLS3 microorganisms and take advantage of existing laboratory and research-based projects focused on vector borne diseases. The goal of this position is to spearhead innovative basic and applied research that will lead to the control of these important diseases. The Bloomberg School of Public Health is the #1 ranked school of public health and is the largest school of public health in the country. The W. Harry Feinstone Department of Molecular Microbiology and Immunology has more than 50 full-time faculty offering interdisciplinary research with many collaborative programs with scientists.

- Qualifications The Director must have a doctoral degree and an established record of research and education in Lyme or other tick-borne diseases although we will also consider individuals with interest in the problem who have outstanding records of research in microbiology, immunology or tick biology.
