Description
Mission of the Position: To conduct research activities in conjunction with ARS and COPEG staff in order to develop and evaluate improved male-only strains of the New World Screwworm (NWS - Cochyliomyia hominivorax) under the overarching strategy of finding more effective and cost-efficient methods for eradication and control of this pest. Qualifications
Education: PhD in Molecular Biology, Genetics, or related discipline Experience: Minimum three years of experience working in molecular genetics. License, Professional Suitability or Indispensable Requirement: Bilingual (command of English and Spanish is required in oral and written form). CKnowledge Required: • Strong foundational knowledge in Molecular Biology and Genetics. • Knowledge of molecular biology techniques • Knowledge of project evaluation methodologies • Knowledge of recombinant DNA techniques. • Preparation of scientific articles and oral presentations
