Description
The primary responsibilities of this role, Senior Scientist are to: Conduct, monitor, interpret and prepare reports for environmental fate field and and/or plant metabolism studies for BCS products in accordance with EPA, PMRA and OECD guidelines; Present/defend study results to internal (project/product teams) and external customers (regulatory agency); Be a technical expert on at least one key Environmental Safety sub-discipline (e.g., soil dissipation, leaching, spray drift, drinking water, etc.) and assist other global scientists in addressing issues relating to this area of expertise; Serve as a member of Project or Asset Teams by contributing expert environmental fate and exposure results for strategic decision making; Prepare documents for regulatory submission to address issues at the federal, state and local levels; Keep current with emerging issues, science and technical advances in environmental toxicology and risk assessment; Seeks actively ways to bring innovation to environmental studies and assessments; Lead industry workgroups focused on technical aspects of environmental fate/exposure and risk assessment.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications: B.S. with at least ten years of experience in chemistry, biology, environmental/soil science, or related field; OR M.S. with at least eight years of experience in chemistry, biology, environmental/soil science, or related field; OR Ph.D. with at least four years of experience in chemistry, biology, environmental/soil science, or related field; Ability to conduct multiple, complex scientific projects, and can prioritize tasks in a frequently changing environment; Excellent oral and written communication skills; Established, effective networks within an external technical community in an area related to environmental fate and exposure important to BCS products; Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-based environment leading to constructive interactions; Ability to lead technical teams focused on environmental fate and exposure.
